First version of the Schubert Moment
On Tuesday April 14 I am presenting a 25 minutes version of my new project, re-composed versions of Franz Schubert's dances. This takes place during a concert "Invocations" (Påkalling) at the Norwegian Academy of Music.
Success for "Orgelets Ønskekonsert"
The Audience Favourites concert at the organ of Stavanger Concert Hall, February 07, filled the house also this year. People were invited to vote for the programme during the month of December. Ulla Olsson, Bjørn Andor Drage and Nils Henrik Asheim performed a wild range of music from Pink Floyd's "The Wall" to Boëllmanns Toccata via a new Organ rap written by master of ceremonies Knut Nærum, and the Symphony Choir backing pop singer Thomas Dybdahl.
Deep Toccata, for organ & orchestra
On November 9, 2014, "Deep Toccata" by Nils Henrik Asheim was premiered in Nidaros Cathedral. This commission from Orgelfest festival featured the large Steinmeyer organ and Trondheim Symfoniorkester. Magne Harry Draagen played the solo part.

Stavanger Symphony Orchestra are performing Grader av Hvitt, the monodrama for orchestra, narrator & electronic sounds to a text by Johan Harstad. Lisa Kristin Ellingsen has the main role. Kyrre Heldal Karlsen and Carsten Aniksdal do the visuals. Christian Eggen is conducting.
Opening at Rudersdal
Nils Henrik Asheim is featured festival composer at Rudersdal Sommerkoncerter 2014.
Ensemble Nordlys performs the piano trio "Game of Three" at the opening concert of the festival. Festival leader Christine Prym on violin, Øystein Sonstad on cello and Kristoffer Hyldig on piano.
Success for "Stormen" - The Tempest
Nils Henrik Asheim's new opera for children, commissioned by the Norwegian Opera and Ballet, "Stormen - forteljinga om Miranda og Ferdinand", had its premiere on June 12, 2014 and was played for 8 almost sold-out houses.

This recording is a by-product of Mazurka – Remaking Chopin, my collaborative project with Gjertrud’s Gypsy Orchestra, which was released as a CD in 2010. On it we explored Frédéric Chopin’s Mazurkas and created new versions with traditional dance music from Central Europe as our most important point of reference.
