PIANO ACTIONS happen at Henie-Onstad Arts Center on Sept 19, 2026. For 6 hours, I have the honour of invading the whole center with concert performances, interactive installations and choreographies. 36 pianists and more than 40 dancers will participate - along with the audience itself!
I have created the following works:
- Sonata Building Kit #1-4 based on Beethoven,
- Bach's Multipiano #1-9
- The Great Spin, a Chopin Waltz Carousel,
– all for large groups of pianists playing together.
Two brand new software-based projects will enable the audience to make music on Spirio piano and sound sculptures. A microtonally re-tuned piano will show up on surprising locations.
Nagelhus Schia Dance Company and sculptor Jennie Bringaker participate in this total takeover of the center for a whole day, offering their own version of transforming and reinterpreting the piano.
