This work-in-progress deals with Franz Schubert's dances for piano.
A selection of dances (Ländler, Deutsche Tänze, Waltzer) are re-composed for an ensemble of string instruments and percussion. The choice of string instruments is rather eclectic, not based on exact historic relevance but rather on a wider folk-music based inspiration.
A work-in-progress performance of 25 minutes duration took place at the Norwegian Academy of Music in april 2014, as a part of the "Reflective Musician" project initiated by pianist Håkon Austbø.
The schedule for the completion of the project is not set.
