We went four hours out in the sea, west of Bodø, and this is when Røst appears… 365 islands, 620 inhabitants, who knows how many birds, hotspot of Norway’s stockfish export and a cute, rustic place to stay at Kårøy - of course on its own island. Perfect sidestep to a visit to the festival Nordland Musikkfestuke.Inbal Pinto Dance Company: TROUT

Madagascar exhibition
Sunday, 01 June 2008
The exhibition "Til jordens ender" opened on May 31, four different locations in Bergen. On the top floor of Bergen Museum, Kulturhistoriske samlinger, I have mounted a sound installation in the exhibition which is about Madagascar culture and the missionaries. It’s supposed to stay there for a year or two. The sounds I use are sounds from the instrument "Valiha", sounds from pieces of coral, field recording of rowing and archive recording of Norwegian house congregation singing hymn. Thanks to Hilde Nielssen for inviting me, and to Olav Myrtvedt for beautiful design of the exhibition.
